Landmines at the Movies!
Have you seen a movie where landmines are included as part of the plot? If so, we want to know about it!
The MBCBL is studying the role played by landmines in popular films and is compiling a list of films that include landmines in the plot.
Many documentaries have been made to raise awareness of the devastating effects that landmines have on individuals and communities. But antipersonnel and antivehicle landmines have also appeared in popular films for decades. As part of its project, the MBCBL also wants to learn if the attitude towards landmines has evolved in popular movies in the same way it has in the global community which created an international treaty in 1997 to ban antipersonnel landmines.
